Policy for including non-members on club trips/events/activities:

Non-members can attend AOAC day events including walks and social events, on a one-off basis, provided:

• They are accompanied by a member.

• They are over 18 years of age.

• They do not use club transport, equipment or funds.

• There is no overnight stay.

• No member is excluded from the activity as a result.

• They have the consent of the activity leader.

• Contact details (name & address) are given to the activity leader.

This policy is intended to enable members to attend activities with a close friend or relative e.g. a new boy/girlfriend. It should be made clear that we are talking about something spontaneous or arranged at the last minute, and the policy is primarily intended to prevent the member being excluded from the activity. If the event in question is of longer duration or needs to be booked in advanced then full membership should be obtained. It should not be used as a form of social or trial membership, which is expressly prohibited by the club constitution. Disciplinary action may be taken if this facility is abused by any member.
