The AOAC needs help from its members

The AOAC exists and thrives because members contribute to it. Here's a few things that we need in the near future - please put something back into the club if you can.

• Evening walks organiseds for June-August 2010. Most years we have a programme of short (3-5 miles) evening walks in and around Bristol and Bath. These are usually on week-day evenings (but Sunday might work too?) and often end at a pub. Urban, sub-urban or countryside. All you need to do it plan a route and a date, walk it in advance so you're sure you know the way and then lead the walk on the night. It will be advertised in the weekly email and on the web site, people don't need to sign-up in advance and there's no cost so there's no admin for you to deal with. The best way to come up with a route is often to find one in a local walks book. How easy is that? Do it by yourself or do it with a friend. • WANTED Photo of the week - please send a photo for use in the weekly email. One per person per week only please. Only send photos that you took yourself, if it's somebody else's photo then they need to send it (I'll take it that I have the sender's permission to publish it in the email and on the web site). • First Wednesday evening of every month - members with experience of at least a few club events who can talk to new members at the pub night and tell them what the club's like and how it works. If you can help with this please contact membership"@"aoac.co.uk
  
  
• Always needed - organisers for day, evening or weekend activities (and social events). If you don't want to do it by yourself then let us know - we can suggest somebody to share the job with you. Get in touch with activities"@"aoac.co.uk
  
  
• Always needed - articles for the club magazine. A short write-up of a recent club event, with photos if possible. Or within reason any other article relevant to the club which will be of interest a lot of club members. Please contact magazine"@"aoac.co.uk
  
  
• Always needed - help and ideas for recruiting new members. All members are welcome but we're particularly interested in ways to recruit younger members and also more active members. If you have ideas that could help us reach new members or if you have access (maybe through work or other organisations) to a means to promote or advertise the club, please contact development"@"aoac.co.uk
