Funding of Large Deposits for AOAC

Any Member or Activity organiser may approach the Treasurer to request a deposit for an AOAC activity.

The Treasurer may provide a cheque for a deposit of £200 or less for any reasonable Club Activity, without prior agreement by the Committee.  However, failure to recover a significant proportion of the deposit amount from the activity may result in a request for a deposit for that activity being refused in the future.

You will need a receipt (if you have already paid the deposit and wish to claim the money back) or details of who a cheque is to be made payable to, in order to receive your deposit cheque.

Activities requiring a larger deposit or for a (hopefully) refundable damages and breakages deposit, will need to be referred to the Committee.
The amount of deposit to be funded by the club will be discretionary.  For a damages deposit that exceeds £100:

Members who are attending the activity may be asked to pay half the cost of the deposit (To be added to the cost of the activity and returned later).

This policy is aimed at activities such as :-

  • Sailing
  • Large residential trips such as Scotland/New Year
  • Skiing
