Avon Outdoor Activities Club ("AOAC") is a Members Club. When joining the Club Members agree to accept and abide by the following Terms and Conditions: Activities are operated on a non-professional basis. Activity Leaders may or may not hold National Governing Body (NGB) qualifications. When an NGB qualification is not held the Activity Leader will have undergone a Club approval process to confirm that they have the relevant skills and experience and will operate in the spirit of the NGB guidelines (where applicable). Participants in Club activities shall accept full responsibility for their own actions and shall not hold the Activity Leader or any other Member accountable for any errors or omissions that may result in loss or injury. The Club functions as a direct result of Member’s giving of their time and effort for the benefit of themselves and others. Members are strongly encouraged to contribute to the running of the Club by taking on responsibilities associated with the core sports that they engage in. Such responsibilities may include organising or leading events, equipment management, administration or more formal roles such as taking up a Committee post. AOAC provides third party insurance cover for events and activities that are approved by the Committee, and led by Approved Activity Leaders or contracted coaches or leaders, only. AOAC does not provide personal accident insurance for Members. Members are advised to ensure that they have adequate personal accident insurance before taking part in any of the Club activities. Members shall inform Event Organisers and Activity Leaders of any disabilities, health or vulnerability issues before booking onto an event or at the earliest opportunity for issues that arise after booking on an event. Members shall gauge their own ability to take part in any activity in the first instance. If the Activity Leader subsequently deems that a Member is unfit to take part in an activity for any reason the Member shall withdraw from that activity when asked to do so. Members agree that the information supplied to AOAC may be stored in computer or paper format and may be distributed amongst other Members for the sole purpose of running AOAC and organising associated events.
